We’re pleased to share that Spatial Research + Design is now a ‘Certified Women Owned’ company through WEConnect International.
We decided to get certification as a way of connecting with potential new clients that have a genuine commitment to diversity, inclusion and workplace equality.
While membership and certification with WEConnect doesn’t guarantee us new business, it can open doors to big corporate buyers and a large network of women-led businesses.
These days, demonstrating social responsibility is a hot topic for large corporations, as investors put their money where their values are. In fact, according to Bloomberg and the NASDAQ, since the pandemic started, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investments have shot through the roof, going from niche to mainstream and putting pressure on all companies to become accountable in more measurable ways.*
Many are demonstrating their commitment to social criteria by establishing supplier diversity programs. And these programs rely on organizations to help create the connections to suppliers and vendors that are led by people from under-represented groups. This is where WEConnect and its US affiliate Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBECN) come in. They provide robust certification and a member database where organizations can source qualified suppliers/vendors.

It is affiliated with the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBECN), which has developed the standard for certification of women owned businesses in the US. Since WEConnect uses the same stringent certification process, companies inside and outside the US can have confidence that our company is at least 51% owned, managed and controlled by one or more women.
